I just ordered up frame connectors, torque boxes and a spring relocation kit from us car tool for my 64' Polara project. I did not pull the trigger on the inner fender braces or the core support ,just wondering if i should have ,any thoughts on using them?. Car will get RMS alterkation front end if that matters. Thanks for your feed back.

I am installing the inner fender supports and the core support is already welded in, really stiffened up the radiator support!

are you going to mini tub it

I was resolved to mini tub my 65 Belvedere but a customer talked me out of doing so. He reminded me the new Challengers are running in the high to mid 7s on small tires.

No,I don't think so .That may change later . I was surprised at how wide the stock tubs are,if i get the springs out of the way and go with the correct backspace on whatever wheels i go with there is a decent amount of room .

Couple of the guys that have 64's have put 295/50 on 8.5 rims back spacing was 5 with stock springs location. Preachr has a 64 and rans some nice size tires maybe he can send you some pics. I'm going to try the 295/ 55 from m/t

Dan64 what diff do you have 8 3/4 or a Dana.

I made up my own core support, original was way cut up. Fender braces done with some bent tubing attached to plates on the firewall and also attached at outer shock tower/upper control arm area. Lower rad support made up with some square, 90's and plates welded to rails. Upper tie bar was done with some formed/cut/boxed cuts 1x2 90 wall rectangle, 1" square verticals, 20ga side baffles, 16ga corner wrap arounds with lots of rosette welds. I also added a bunch of rosette welds to the inner areas along the rails, inner fenders, shock supports.

It has a 8 3/4 in it now with 4:56 an a spool . I think the car had been someones 12 second street /strip car [parked 20 years ago]. The car was never set up to be really fast or very street friendly which probably lead to the lost of interest in it from the old owner. The silver lining in all of that is that it is practically rust free from not being driven and everything minus the seats are there. I'll chance the 8 3/4 to 4:10 with a true trac and run 29" or 30" tall rear tire .If i grenade the 8 3/4 then i'll go to the dana 60.

Nice looking work!. Are you running stock style front suspension or after market?. Silly question but what size drill bit do you use on your 16 ga rosette welds? and how far do you space them ?.

That's some great looking work

Going to run oe based suspension. For the holes, I used about a 1/2" unit from one of my Blair Rotabroach sets. Look like mini hole saws. Went like 1" or so apart.
