just got new carpet for my 64 ply 2 dr hardtop - where do you start ? - doesn't look right - looks like too much waste - don't have old carpet to go by - does someone have a HOW TO instructions and picture of what its supposed to look like - footpad also doesn't look right either

One or two piece set? If 2 piece, start with the rear section. Is it a premolded carpet? Lay it out in the sun so it's workable. They're usually generously cut, so you can trim off any excess material. Mark your seat bolt holes and seat belt mounting bolts. Use a soldering iron to make these holes. It will burn and seal the carpet threads so they don't fray. Got it??

They don't supply as much padding with the carpet as the original had from the factory! So you'll have to buy some additional padding!

I started with locating the gas pedal in relation to the rubber mat on mine. Then the seat holes, installed seats and shifter and then cut to fit the edges and install the door sill plates.
