Installing Console Top Plate?

On The 4 — Speed Consoles For the 68-70 B-Bodys is It Just The Front Tab and 2 Screws That Hold It In Place?

The Consoles Aftermarket and That Plate Slides All Over The Place at The Front

It should not move around. Factory consoles just use two screws and the shape of the console holds the front. Two tabs cast in hold it at the front.

Photos of my automatic console top plates showing the metal tab at the front that slides in under the plastic console body and the two screw holes at the rear for the screws that go into the plastic body. 4-speed consoles may be different, but I doubt it.
