Am looking to get quotes, and wondered if “ya’ll” had good experiences and fair pricing regarding insurance?
Thanks

I use an agent for my classic car insurance. They had me with a good company, that later got bought out by Hagerty around 5 years ago. Hagerty kept the premiums steady for 2 years and all was fine. But then I got my next renewal notice for what my 3rd year was going to be, and it was going to get raised 40% for no reason I could figure out.
I called my agent at Rally, and she found me another company with premiums approximately what Hagerty was before they were going to jack up my rates. So I canceled Hagerty and switched to them, American Modern. My new renewal for 2026 just came in the mail last week. Rates reduced over 10% over this year!
This is my agent, collector car insurance is a specialty of theirs.

Call your agent. They may carry a company that has special policies for antique cars. I had the same experience with Poster # 2, with Hagerty. I contacted the agent that carries my policies on my house and everyday vehicle. They had a company that provides agreed coverage on older vehicles, and was slightly cheaper than my first provider. However, they require an appraisal every 5 years. I think this is a good idea, anyway, to keep abreast with changing values.

I got Hagerty for the third year. Car is finished and I need to up my coverage.
I’m paying a high price for a little coverage.

You get what you pay for. Hagerty is likely the most expensive, but what kind of insurance do you want for a 68 Charger, really?

Around here, (Ontario), Hagerty does not require an appraisal, as other vintage car insurance carriers do. Some people falsely see this as a savings. A couple of acquaintances of mine have had severe damage on their vehicles, and have had quite a fight getting a fair settlement from Hagerty. Their contracted adjusters undervalued the repair costs to make the cars whole again.

Hagerty. I've had a few claims with no problems. You're automatically a Driver's Club member with a magazine and discounts. I have a bunch of cars with them and after a few each new one seems cheaper than the last.

From what I could gather, their rates are based mostly on what your most expensive car insured with them is. I had 2 six pack cars valued at $125K and $85K with them and my convertible valued at $75K.
Then I bought my Magnum and called to add it. My agent called back and said my premium increase would be $25!
They only wanted to insure it for $15K and I’d paid more for it. It’s a GT T tops, one of the nicest out there. Find another.
The agent talked them into accepting $20K agreed value.
A year later, Hagerty sent me a letter saying they did a review and my V code was underinsured and should be $105K instead of $85K, and the Magnum should be $25K!
I called the agent and told her the V code isn’t worth $105K but maybe we should increase it to $95K. And I’m good with going $25K on my Magnum.
She calls back and says the V code is now agreed at $95K, but Hagerty wouldn’t increase the agreed on the Magnum.
Wait, they’re the ones who said it was underinsured??
And I’ve been trying to sell the V code off and on for years and if it got totaled $95K is more than I’d sell it for and no one’s biting, so they’d pay me more than anyone else would?
I don’t get insurance?!
Hagerty charged me another $45 a year to be in their drivers club. Is it automatically included now?
My buddy has his collection insured with Hagerty and seems to have a car break down at least once a year. He typically waits 4 hours for the tow truck to show after calling Hagerty.
I’ve heard similar stories about AAA though.

Grundy for years,no claims and no premium increases.
Rollcage and blower through the hood!
