I came across this radio shack, intermittent wiper module. I have seen these in the past, and even have two or three of them in my collection, but I am stumped by the dual controls. The left thumb wheel is labeled interval, and the right is labeled sweeps. Interval is self evident, but I am wondering what the sweeps control does.

When the wipers pass thru the park switch that is probably a counter that maintains the sweep. Nice feature.

I have been asking about info for one of those for a while. No response. My van has a new wiper motor, 2 speed, but low is too fast. Any info would be appreciated

I also have something like that, I stashed it away in one of my parts bins but never installed it. I have 3-position wipers so I don't know why (or if?) I bought it...

My 67 Satellite had something similar on it when I got it. It had a single knob that set the delay interval. Only problem was that the PO wired it in a way that the wipers stopped wherever they were on the windshield instead of at the park position. Knowing what I do now I think that could have been corrected. I took it off and threw it in a box years ago. Probably still have it somewhere.

I wonder if it is the number of passes the wipers make before they park between "on" intervals.

pause wipe pause

pause wipe wipe pause

etc.

The pics of the wiper relay / delay systems, show old units. They used to be available. Does anyone know where to find one? I assume most modern vehicles have intermittent wipers, so the stores no longer stock them. I recall they came out in the early sixties.
My new wiper motor looks just like the old one, except the nut is 10mm, not 3/8. Works fine, just too fast on low.
Do you guys still have Radio Shack?
