It looks like the back window, and one taillight, might be worth having..... maybe.
Better have a plasma cutter, so you can get the rest in a dumpster.

Well I’ll be, you are correct sir. I could have sworn it was a 68, but I’m not a GM guy by any means.
Travis..
Yes, they are very close in looks, a lot of people have difficulty telling the 68 or 69 differences. The first brad new car that I ever bought was a 68 GTO, a few years later I got a 69. Then a 66 and a 70 etc, etc,
I currently have a 70 GTO and of course a 66 B-Body Coronet 440.

This gen of GTO is pretty cool, I haven’t spent any time in a 68-72 GM A body since I was 12 when I’d go somewhere with my brother in his 72 LeMans. One thing that I was surprised about was how small it feels compared to a Mopar b body. It feels like it’s 7/8 scale. The Pontiac 400 has some pretty satisfying part throttle get up and go too, this is the first one I’ve driven. Driving this really makes me want to get my brothers car back on the road. It sits in his garage now, covered in stuff (he calls it LeShelf). It’s a run of the mill green on green 72 LeMans with a 350/column auto, but was factory equipped with the endura front end. I need it!

A stroker 455 is the same physical size as that 350. Green/green sleeper? Nobody thinks a LeMans is fast.

I had a LeMans with the endura nose too, with the 455 HO. They didn't make a convertible GTO for 1972 so if you wanted one, this was the only way to do it.

I’m not a convertible fan, but that’s a cool car for sure. I prefer the 72 grill and heat extractors in the fenders to the 71 also.
Travis..

Did those actually Go Like Hell, like the Omni version did?
It actually Goes Like Hell S'More! That's what GLHS stands for! It's a legit 14 second car in the quarter mile, from Carroll Shelby's shop, where only 1,000 total were built in '87.

I can tell a '68 GM mid-sized from a '69: 68's had vent windows, and '69's did not.

Thanks. I knew about the Omni but not familiar with that limited version of the Shelby Charger. The other ones looked nice but were slugs.

My friend built one of those 80s vintage chargers in my garage. It ran pretty good. (My ex-supergas Cortina in the background, 67 Barracuda notch under the cover.)

Even the GLHS Shelby Charger version wasn't astounding...I mean, a nearly 7-second 0-60 and 14.9 second quarter mile, is...peppy, but that same year produced the Grand National and GNX with sub-5-second 0-60's. The Omni GLHS was legit competition for the Buicks. And the nice-looking but sluggish regular Shelby Chargers had what, a 145-hp 2.2L?

Regular Shelby Chargers without a turbo had only 110 hp. except for 1983 which had 107.
