Hey Todd. Whats the story on the center pieces for the gauge clusters? It seems to me theres a way to tell if your cluster is a early one or a later one by the shape of the point in the center.

Early 66’s had a disc at the needle base. Later same model year they went to the needle and cone.
There has been a suggestion that the cone was used to prevent a puncture if in an accident. Could be an old wives tale. Who knows.
