Why would a regular posting member "limit who may view their profile page"?
Am I the only person that thinks that's shady?!?!

FBBO Witless protection program?
Witless, not witNess.

Didn't even know you could do that....

The profile is all just info provided by the member with no way to verify if any of it is true. Blocking or restricting it is strange but the info is not something that I would trust anyway.

I have seen this before and it is fine I guess for a member looking only for info. Now if you are selling parts or trying to sell something or buy something and you do this, I think it is a royal pain in the *** and not right to do so. Myself, I atleast like to see a location of where you are from so we know what demographic you are speaking of. If you are having a overheating problem, it is nice to atleast have an idea what climate you are in. If its Arizona, it makes a big difference when its 105 degrees vs. NY where is 75 degrees before you offer help. Or a cold start issue like Kern had at 60 degrees in California vs. my cold start which could be 0 degrees in Buffalo. Little **** like that helps to know sometimes.

I lost my location posting privileges :D

Or people selling stuff that have put you on ignore... so you can't reply to their post or send a PM..

I don't understand why you would feel the need to do that either. If you want to be part of the group. I fill out everything and don't care who sees it. And if any one gets in my area I always say give me a shout and come have a cold one and talk cars. I always also wondered why people will give part of a vin number but hide the rest. If someone wants your vin they can look through the windshield when it is parked somewhere. If you have the title the car is yours. Having your vin wont do a thing. Same as people who hide plate numbers when they post. I am sure there is some reason but I don't get it.

There are certain default settings that each member can adjust.

To hide details is done on purpose by the members. To me, that means there is something to hide, or they don't want to be making themselves open to the public. I'll bet it is someone who never posts pictures of their own vehicles, or maybe even any pictures at all.
