I have the 70 Charger K frame that was on my brother's 70 Charger, but it doesn't have the dime or half dollar sized piece of metal tacked onto the k frame with the last 2 digit of the part number. I don't see any real identifying markings at all. Did all 70 Chargers have that piece? Or were there exceptions?

I have another K frame I bought and it has the round metal dime with the 90 stamped on it - correct for my car. I'm thinking of swapping since I just started putting the front suspension together on the K Frame.

I am crazy to consider swapping. Will anyone in the future care? Am I overthinking it?

Thanks for humoring me with thoughts & opinions.

Really, the only people that will care are you and car show judges. Or, maybe an overly **** friend. I destroyed my original K-frame in an accident. It had a "79" coin welded on top of the "90" coin. Just today I welded the "79" coin on top of the "90" coin on the replacement K that I bought. So, I guess I'm one that cares! My car doesn't even have a fender tag so I don't think any judge would look twice at it!

Where would this stamp be located on the K frame? I have my engine out along with the k frame but have not noticed anything.

It's right on the front towards the driver's side.

Before you swap the K members you might want to look at the date codes?
They are stamped in the middle above the clamping lip facing forward.
Your K member with the coin might have a date that is after the build date of your car.
This would be a bigger problem than a missing part number coin!

With the date code and shift stamped on the front

Didn’t they also stamp the partial part number on the front also , even without the coin

Many people think there was a scientific method as these cars were built. Not all k-frames had coins, and not all had numbers stamped.

if you really want one $40 shipped any number you want. We add them to the Hemi K members we make
