LA 360: Thermostat neck - adding a spacer/riser?

I am looking to add a mechanical temperature gauge to my car. My 360 is a 1978. There is no port available in the manifold that will take the large threaded sender (3/8NPT).

The gap between the centers of the bolts holding down the thermostat neck is 3.25". So it seems this should fit: http://arengineering.com/products/thermostat-spacer-with-efi-sensor-port/. Will it?
