A good ole friend of mine has 5000 plus originals from the 40,50s, 60s. All annuals and promos. All unbuilt still in there boxes. Its pretty cool to see. The basement of his house is full.
I had a extensive collection of almost the same. But I mostly collected show cars , as well as the car related character kits. But mine , as soon as the show cars started coming out as reissues. I moved mine on. And never looked back.
The new stuff in stores is not cheap now. 35.00 cdn for a 1/25 scale kit.

I sold 800 of my kits and promos back in 1998 for $11,000.
So I had a $11K budget for the basement reno.
