Late 80’s 1970 Bee Show Car

I was trying to find some pictures of an old bee that I really loved. It was a 1970, B3 blue, 4spd, 440 6 pack car, with stripe delete. The car was kind of a big deal in the late 1980s, and it was also a magazine car. I remember it was a very meticulous restoration. Does anybody have any pictures of this car or remember the car?

Oh man, it was (is?). As a teen, it was my first exposure to a high-end resto. Mopar Action or High Performance Moapr did a deep dive on the car-
Showing all the reproduced inspection marks and all the little details that I had absolutely no clue about.

I remember seeing it a the Nationals. The owner was cleaning treads with cue tips…

Except for the wheels and mud flaps, this one looks very similar.

I judged that car when it 1st appeared.
I've often wondered where that car is today.

Nice is an understatement . FOR THAT TIME.

Unless its been upgraded it wouldnt pass muster today


For example when it appeared they used " NOS avail at the time " Mopar brand belts and hoses . Which would not work today

Are you referring to the car that I originally asked about or the one that is above your post? I don’t think they are the same car…or are they?

The car in the original post was John Grinwalds car.

he sold the car not to long after it was judged at the Nats back then

IMO , odds are the 2nd photo is same car, just later in time and upgraded to 15inch wheels


John and his business partner ( cant remember the name) restored a 1971 Demon to same level a few years later. I also judged in back then.

Not long after they started a business restoring OE level Mopar parts.
As far as I know the business is long since closed and last I heard John was racing Nostalgia Superstock / AFX car Shown here

Mopar Muscle. Reference Resto. Owned by a state trooper. I have the issue and find the year and date

Picture taken couple years ago at Byron Drag Strip. Lowest time and he’s still at it
