Can any of your brothers out there that have a 68/69 GTX/RR give me the exact length and exact width of the car. I'm trying to figure out if my 68 GTX will fit in my garage this spring when I bring her home to CA.

i just have an average 2 car garage that has to fit two cars and I know these are big bodies. I don't believe I have any room for error.

Little help out there would be appreciated!

......well, some GTX's are longer than others....hehe, but seriously....if your house was built before 1977 in Cali, you should have no issues.

I live in a town house and it was build in 1993. I think the garage is slightly smaller than a house garage.

Still ll looking for the length and width folks. Anyone?

Google is your friend....

Wheelbase
116.0 in (2,946 mm)

Length
202.7 in (5,149 mm)

Width
76.4 in (1,941 mm)

Height
54.7 in (1,389 mm) (loaded with 5-passengers)

The LOA is 202.7"and the width is 76.4" acording to the service manual. It fits in my 1989 condo garage with about 1' to spare length wise.

Darn! You guys are just too fast!

Thanks a million guys! I didn't think to google it and I don't have a service manual - yet. It's going to be a tight fit. I think my garage is probably the same as yours GTX.JWC. My DD is a Lexus ES so there's going to be some pillow fights between the 2 on sleeping room. I think based on the above I'm going to be just right. I'm envious of you guys out there that have spacious garages with plenty of room to keep and work on your cars.

Thx again Kiwi and GTX!

I converted my carport into a one car garage and that is where I keep my 68 Charger. You need a minimum 19' from front to back to get the car in and the garage door to shut and you need a minimum of 10' side to side to be able to pull the car in and barely open the door. A One car garage of 19'x10' your car will fit but its tight and don't open your door fast.It will hit the wall. Joe

When do you expect to have you "X" deliver to SoCal? In time for our show down here in San Diego on July 16?

Yeah my garage is so tight that I can't use the people door to get in & out so I have to walk around to close the main door!! Not to mention, there are the 4 vehicles that my wife & I have. One sits on the street and the other 3 time share my 2-car and a storage locker!

BTW, you can download a copy of the 68 Plymouth service manual from mymopar.com. Not small at 415MB,but you will have it and can print the pages as you need them..

Is the driveway and garage level? If it's too tight to drive it in, you could push it in? I've done that before. If you don't drive the RR very much, park it in first and as close to the far wall as possible then put the DD in as close to the RR as possible assuming the RR will be parked to the right of the DD that way you can get out of the Lexus easily. At my old place, I backed in my Challenger within 2" of the wall on the passenger side and that allowed me to drive my DD in forward and get out without having to do the squeeze plus I could get into the Challenger without having to move the DD out.

Whhhaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttt?????????????

Aren't you the guy that has owned that GTX for 45 years?? And you don't have a service manual???????? YET?????????

What the H3ll are you waiting for? :thatswck:

The short story on a very long story is - the X has been in storage for 30 years - then under restoration in Minnesota for the last 5. I've just taken possession again and am planning on bringing it out to CA this spring. I used to have a service manual but it disappeared over the years. Need another one. If you want the full story search "Tired Warrior" in the FBBO search function.

Yes - the GTX will be out here in June and I would love to come to a show and cruise in San Diego in July. Thanks for the info. Where can I look up details on the show?

Thanks for for the tip on where to down load a service manual for my car! That's good info. I'll be sure to do that. I'll be needing one shortly.
