Linkage Issue

Does anybody have a photo of the proper linkage for underneath the car. 68 Charger, console shift, with 440.

I turned the shift rod over, but now the swivel assembly cant be installed because the transmission housing is in the way. I wonder if the shift lever that it attaches to is to short, and needs to stick out further away from the transmission housing to clear. Gonna go play with it some more, but I think I need a longer transmission lever.

I think my problem is the lever is to short. I imagine it suppose to come a little bit longer for the big block 727? Can somebody confirm or is it sitting upside down?

Your shift rod assy is on upside down. The bolt retainer should have the bolt facing down, and the rod on the shift lever goes thru the grommet from the bottom going up.

95% sure this is a BB trans lever.

He had this image in there stating most 727's had a straight lever, while the 904 had the offset lever; however, lengths may changed depending on application. I am now in a witch hunt to find the correct lever for my setup (68 charger, console shifter, with 440).

Fran, your awesome! My Ebay search skills have always been good, but I couldn't find this part this time.

Ordered part. Thank you. I am pretty certain this will fix all my problems.

Installed the correct lever, turned the shift rod over. Transmission shifts correctly with the console, and there is no interference with the kickdown linkage. All fixed. Now if I can get the coolant operating temp down, I will be happy.
