Live Music (Bands or Groups that you saw personally)

Was anyone you know at the 1969 Doors concert in Miami when ol' Jimmy Morrison, reportedly exposed himself which ended the show??

I got 4 tickets to Stevie Ray Vaughan at Pine Knob and asked a girl from work to go. I gave 2 tickets to my cousin and told him to find a date. He asked our insurance agent. Now, my cousin was no Romeo. And didn’t say a single word to “Tammy”, and my date was a dud too. Finally, Tammy couldn’t take it anymore and turned around over the seat and looked at me and said “doesn’t anybody in this car like to party”? I said “I do”, so we swapped dates. Tammy and I had a ball, and my cousin and my dud date sat in silence the entire concert!

AC/DC, Poison, In Living Colour, Dokken, Ozzy, Megadeth, Motorhead, Grateful Dead, Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, Beach Boys, The Righteous Brothers.

Those are the ones I remember.

Not that, but I worked with a guy and dated a girl who were at Woodstock. She refused to talk about it because she said it made her feel old. ****, if I was at Woodstock I’d probably never stop talking about it.
We lived in upstate NY a couple of hours from Woodstock when it happened. My oldest brother wanted to go but he had to work. My sister's future husband did go, but he doesn't remember much. I was only 6, then, and my parents weren't hippies, so I wasn't anywhere near it. LOL

I never cared much for crowds, that's one reason I live in the country. However, the last few years, I have been privileged to have seen some excellent cover or tribute bands. Small theater, in my town all seats comfy with an excellent view & good acoustics. Several weeks ago we saw: Stanley Jordan plays Jimi Hendrix. A Master’s tribute to the Master. and it was very good. The drummer was awesome. Another great thing is a theater in Hackettstown was revamped for such things as well as movies. We saw Symphony & Metallica (S&M) there. The theatre sound system was quite loud & excellent. Every other row of seats was removed and super comfy reclining seats with leg rests and cup holders. You can order beer or wine to be delivered to you from the lobby or go there & buy it yourself. With great seats & sounds and complete comfort, it was as good or better than being at a real concert. The people who film these events do an excellent job as it's larger than life and loud enough that our ears rang just like being too close at a real concert. It's like getting your cake & eating it too! Worth every penny!

I’m amazed at how many guys here have seen In Living Colour. I saw them in the late eighties and knew very little about them. I was in row thirty something on the floor, dead center. Vernon Reid on guitar absolutely slayed. I like a few of their songs and am not a huge fan, but to see him at his peak, live was incredible. Right up there with Stevie Ray, Eddie Van Halen, and the other legends.

Louis Armstrong, Kenny Ball, Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Ravi Shanka, and many I forgot, like Robert Zimmerman, Bob Secor sp? Sarah McClachland, Mark Knoppler. Used to listen to Kiri sing before she became famous.

"Living Color" is the band.

"In Living Color" was the Wayans brothers TV show with J Lo and Jim Carey.

I been to hundreds of concerts, lots a great shows. One of the best was Iron Maiden and Judas Priest! Iron Maiden tore the roof off the place and when I thought Priest couldn't top that, they did! I still remember Judas Priest's opening song, Electric Eye from Screaming For Vengeance. The Hellion intro began, then the Electric Eye intro, the the lights went up to the very top of the amplifiers, and Rob Halford was way up ontop of the amps, singing Up here in space, I'm looking down on you! It was very cool. When he brought the Chrome Harley on stage and fired it up,it was deafening! Great show. I went to see it twice one at a different arena. The second time Fastway was with Maiden and Priest. It rocked.
