Have been looking for a 69 charger too restore. Man can't believe the price for what is nothing much of a car. No motor or trans. Car is in rough shape also for even 15 grand. One I see is black and found it on Craigslist. That car is in so many states and same car listed for 15 thou. Others are even in 20 thou. range and not in any better shape. NO motor's or trans mission. Interiors are trash. Just restored a 69 runner and bought it for 7 thou. Would say it was in not so good of shape but it had a motor and all under hood and drive train. So am I just looking in the wrong place. Would like to find a good one to work on.

$20K for a gen 2 Charger doesn't get you very far these days. The prices are crazy high.

Good luck. ‘68-‘70 Chargers are the new E bodies, in that demand is high and not many left to build.

Restomod 318 cars with modern equipment bring as much and sometimes more than OEM restos.

Just keep looking with motor and trans decent shape around 40 from what I say but would still need work driver quality maybe 50 to 60 my guess how deep are your pockets? Even saw a post from a charger hunter Chris birdsong him self said in the last year they are getting harder and harder to find them. That because of flipping and the love of the body style.

LOL, Hell ya I would to but my accountant says I have to many cars already. Screw her I'm always though, don’t want to miss any deals. Chargers, like they all say I shouldn’t have sold the one I had bought it for 700 dollars and had no where to keep it so I gave it away. Still got 2 will never give them up.

Yes except THE CHARGER is 10 times the better vehicle.

It's probably more like your looking in the wrong decade. The only reasonable priced chargers are being sold because the owner is broke.

To think I sold my 70 SE 383 mag
A/C , six way seat , tic-toc tach , Magnum 500 , handling pkg , tow pkg , disc brake running driving car for 16,700 6 years ago ! It was my first car and I new the original owner .
Prices are on a bubble right now just as E-Bodies were 10-15 years ago .

It is stunning. I have posted my comparison before here on B-bodies. Comparing my base model '69 GTX to a Friend's base model '69 Charger SE. My GTX? 440 4-speed. (Non numbers matching, but period correct components.) His Charger also non numbers matching 383 727 auto. GTX is F8 Green exterior. Charger F5 Blue. Both cars are very decent driver quality. (I would grade both as 2.7 on the 1-5 condition scale.) I believe my GTX is a better performance and build quality package. But every indicatcation suggests he can get 20+% more for his Charger.

                        Chargers are hot.

Yes that is what I was talking about. Would consider a fixer upper. But don't want to get into the pit fall I had with my runner. MOE MONEY is all it keep saying. Yes ran into may scam's when searching for the runner. BEWARE. One guy said he was in the service and in England. The car was stored at an airport in south Fla. But could not get me in to look at it. That sent up red flag's!!!!!. Others had pic's of car's from out of country and found them here in the US. Contacted the owner's and they said they would never sell the car's and did not know who was posting their car for sale. Men thanks for your info and just was looking for that charger I could do little work on and drive it. For now just will keep looking. Know where one is that was fully restored and know the guy well. He has become a friend while building my runner. Think I will see what he is asking for it.

20k involves knowing how to cut, fit and weld.

40-50k if you don’t mind rough around the edges (minor repairs and re-paint)

60-80k puts you in the car show the coming weekend you buy it.

                                  That’s where it’s at.

I agree. Have a friend that has one and asked what he wanted for it. It is for sale. Fully restored and motor rebuild. Think it is an automatic car. Asking 60 thou. So that is in the ball park. Figure this runner I finished is in that area also. But the body shop guys say I am too low on the price after they looked at it and was told of every thing done to the runner. Well Thanks for the in put. If I get a charger it will be to drive and do a little drag racing on the back road's. LOL. So If it leaks and is not perfect then so be it.
