I purchased a 68' GTX from a dealer in Florida and they provided ZERO history of the car so I am searching for someone who may know something about this car. Looks like it was purchased at Baxter Motors in Cedar Rapids Iowa. From the very limited information I could find it looks like it spent the majority if not all of it's life in Iowa. It is B6 blue with black stripes. Blue on blue interior with a black vinyl top. The VIN is RS23L8G179089.

I remember this car, or perhaps a near twin, from an internet post about a decade back. It caught my attention because the car was nearly identical to the '68 GTX I owned at the time. The car in question had been put in hibernation by the original owner, if I recall correctly. It had been in dry storage, and the body was extremely well preserved for an Iowa car. Fairly rare color combo, hopefully someone will chime with more information.

My car was also blue with blue, black vinyl top, but had white side stripes instead of black. Current owner put on a white top to match.

Asking about the history of a muscle car is like asking your new girlfriend how many guys she has slept with. The answer is that they both were regularly ridden hard and put away wet!

In the days before they were collectible, I gravitated toward GTXs, because the automatic equipped cars were often owned by well to do middle aged family guys, and not beaten to death. My only four speed car was another story. My former Hemi automatic was originally owned by a guy who was 60 when he bought it new. He also had a wife who was over 20 years his junior.
