Low gas prices are bad

Ours is almost back to 2 bucks a gallon. I thought oil was cheap?

He's (the author) just kissing butt!

Estimates say's these prices could last till 2017. Gee, that's pretty optimistic, since we have a president, who may not abdicate in January of 2017. Film at eleven....

when oil was under 40 a barrel...gas was 75 cents a gallon....we're still getting hosed

"If you drive a car, as I do, gas that cheap is a thrill. It is an inducement to head out on the road." This is one of those Liberal logic things that I don't see as having any basis in reality. Is anyone driving more because gas is cheaper? I know I'm not. In fact, I suspect one of the reasons there is such a growing glut of oil is that thanks to the internet and online shopping, most people are driving less.

I drive about 40 miles per day to/from work whether gas is $1.85 or $3.85. I make a couple trips to the grocery store each week... same deal. My wallet and bank account are definitely getting a thrill, but my cars aren't.

I guess these folks still think it's the 1960s where people used to go out and take long road trips for entertainment and shopping before there was cable, Netflix, Amazon, etc.

"It is a conundrum for consumers with a conscience because cheap gas is, in many ways, a beautiful thing."

If your conscience is so tortured, sell your car and ride a bicycle. I'll burn your share of the cheap gas.

I guess this guy forgot that higher fuel costs cause everything else to go up in price. I, for one don't drive any more, or less than I did before. I have to drive alot for my job, and the mileage reimbursement never covers the actual fuel usage. So, low prices mean more money stays in my pocket, not more emissions. Also, this dick is saying we should pay more in taxes, so we won't drive more. I personally don't have money I can afford to give away for no reason, other than to have the government try to control me even more than it does already. And, what about methane gas? Do we start killing off cows? I understand that methane is one of the worst for the ozone. Rant over.

You would think that with crude oil prices as low as they are now that the cost of producing motor oil would be considerably less that it was a few years ago. Even the cheap oil at NAPA (NAPA branded oil is actually Valvoline) is still $4 a quart. I know that it's not a direct comparison with crude and gasoline, but you would think that motor oil price would come down a little. Anyone in the business that can enlighten me?

The prices of a lot of goods that are impacted by gas prices haven't budged even though oil prices have been falling for close to a year now. Milk is about the only thing I've seen get cheaper. I suspect no one wants to drop their prices and then have to escalate them again.

Yeah, the price of a barrel dropped over $5 last week but gas has only gone down here by .0-.04 cents a gal.. One place has gone up a nickel, what's up with that?

I just filled up the R/T yesterday $1.97 for super unleaded, I couldn't pass it up when I saw it as I filled up my daily driver for $1.65

I do. I enjoy driving and the cheaper gas is great!

Funny I was just thinking the other day about how gas is cheap and suddenly climate change alarmist are going nuts and its constantly in the news... What a coincidence! They'll have to raise taxes on it to curb our demand and help us save ourselves!

And I drive 90 miles a day round trip for work so this cheap gas is nice for me!

Whats wrong with cheaper prices i drive a lot of miles for work .Think of the people on minimum wage don't they deserve a break.I am getting a little tired of this greenhouse talk.Just an excuse for more tax $.

You don't know why gas is so cheap as opposed to months ago ? When there is a glut on the supply, that means commerce is not moving, because no body is buying, no body is working to use what's produced. So they are selling gas off cheap, because the producer won't cut his production (Saudi's), so not to hurt himself. The companies that sell it now have to get rid of it. Thus cheap gasoline. At least that's how I understand it. This don't translate necessarily to a good thing.

Gas is $2.26 average unless you go to a shell station where it is $2.60 plus here in Washington State. Are we getting Fucked or what???????
