Has anyone swapped the suspension/crossmembers from a late model LX into a B-body? Seems like I saw pics of the front crossmember bolted into someone's car but I can't find it again. I know new shock towers would have to be fabbed to use the newer suspension (front and rear).
Trying to decide which route to go with my '68 Charger. Pretty much the whole floor needs replacing anyway, trunk included, so am debating following in CJD's footsteps and using the whole lower floor and frame rails from an LX.
Or would it maybe be easier to just put a replacement floorpan/trunk pan in and fab the front and rear suspension frames in?
Or just skin a LX and drop the old body over it? Wheelbase differences hard to overcome? If you do this, which way is it titled? Old body or new chassis?
I know there are lots of aftermarket solutions that bolt into the stock chassis, but whole '06-08 Charger parts cars are out there for around 1k. Lot more work but if you can do it yourself, way cheaper than an AlterKation or similar front end and a aftermarket 4-link rear. And you get IRS, and much better replacement parts availability.
Just kinda thinking out loud, so to speak. And get opinions on each option in one place.
