And one have or know the stud number or size to mount this thru the firewall to look at somewhat correct?
It is going on a 69 Coronet Drum Brake car.
Bought a Rebuilt Master Cyl and did not come with studs.
Any help would be appreciated.

I just checked my '62 Dart (B body) which has a dual drum MC (manual brakes, not power brakes) from a '67 Coronet, which lists the same MC as the '69 Coronet. It uses 4 5/16" dia, coarse thread bolts for mounting. The FSM for '62 says to remove 'bolts and nuts'.

Thanks for the reply,at least now i can get the bolts Picked up!
My 68 RR has studs mounted on the M/C going thru the Firewall. So Bolts it is.

Just make sure they are Grade 5 or better; you can put a heckuva lot of force on a MC; if you put 200 lbs on the pedal in a panic stop, there will be over 1000 lbs on the bolts and MC!

The ones on my 67 are 2".

Thanks for that link.
I'm hoping they might have ones with larger splines, as the raybestos M/C I bought through rockauto has larger holes and the splines don't engage.

BTW the link shows a grade 2 "low strength" stud.

And really no reason to not use splines studs vs. bolts. Production standards changed from '62 in the later years. And I would not be surprised to see studs on any year for tha matter.

Here is a link for grade 5 ribbed bolts from Mcmaster but the ribbed shoulder diameter is not all that large and may not work. http://www.mcmaster.com/#98060a600/=tl9had

The round head style does not look right for an MC mount though. There must be a shoulder bolt out there that will work.

You might try Fastenal too.

I had the same issue with the hole size on the master cylinder on my Satellite. I took some short pieces of 14 ga. household copper wire, stripped off the insulation and inserted the copper into the hole. I then tapped the studs into the holes with a hammer, using the copper to "shim" the stud and hold it in place. I then trimmed the excess copper so it would not be seen and installed the master cylinder. Works like a champ.
