i never had kids...... over the years, my dogs have made me happier than anything else i can think of..... and they never do any wrong

Yeah, I feel for you Bud. My Gunner has been limping for a few days now, and he is only 5. Always after he catches the Frisbee for a while. Been puttin it off , but now I'm getting worried. Gonna make an appointment on Monday.

So true, and they don't talk back.

We have 4 fuzzy-kids. They're the lights in my life.
I used to have 4 fuzzy kids, sure made a long day at work so much better.

Its hard when you get so used to them being around then one day their not but Budd like I told you when your old boy passed a new one would ease the pain some at least it did for me when my first chocolate lab passed I waited a fee weeks and went and got another one ! My dog dose that kind of stuff every time I come home (even if it's a few hours), so many times I think it's annoying sometimes, but it is nice to know they love you as much as you love them.

I can't imagine coming home and not seeing that Hemi powered tail coming at me, and him seeing the big smile on my face.

RIP Lord Budniks, life is unfair way too often.

This is my best friend Chuy

That was nice and enjoying. I have 2 kids grown up and gone. We now replaced them with 2 labs and 4 cats.

I know that feeling Budnicks . . . still miss my Yellow Lab Belle . . .

But I've got Titus, my 150 pound Harlequin Great Dane keeping me company these days . . .

He's a rescue, but I still don't know if I rescued him or he rescued me ? ? ( I'm thinking the latter is more the truth )

Since he's so big, does he count for 2 - 3 ? ? ( just a thought ? )

I have had dogs all my life. Currently have a Jack Russell and a lab -border collie mix. The Jack is 16 years old and has been evil all his life. I got him from a shelter. He was probably abused but we were never able to fix him. He has bitten every one in my family and a lot of friends. He is a major pain in the ***. The other day he wasn't good. He couldn't even stand on his own. We made an appointment for the inevitable. It was a long painful ride to the vet. We knew he wasn't coming back. I was torn up inside even though we were never really able to get close to him. It was a horrible feeling. Miraculously, he got medication and is as big a pain in the *** as ever. You cant help but get attached to these guys.

Great video. We too had to put down a dear family member (Sid) last June. We still think and talk about her every so often - sure miss her. We were ready for a quiet house, kids are grown and gone and really didn't want to go through having another dog again. Our kids had other ideas, in December they got us a puppy. A Saint Bernard, 10 weeks old, named Bella, needless to say our house is not quiet anymore. Best Christmas present I have had in years.

Awsome video, and as a kid I had several dogs over the years before I went out on my own. now my wife kitty and I have raised black german sheperds, and 1 litter of original sized black and white pit bulls which we gave away only to people with children that lived in the country side. we kept 1 male and 1 female pit bull and they were very helpful with my grand sons and all family functions, everybody loved them and friends would come just to visit them. we lost our big male 2years ago and now we had to put female down just before Christmas. piggy was 16 years old and my wife still cries every day.

Man I can so relate to this, I've been down this road more than once. My boy Junior is 4 months short of 13. Has gone from a weight of 106 gradually down to 78. We take our meds together everyday. Shepherds get that coating on the nerves so not lots of pain but very dibilitating. I'll be with him long as he still has the fire in his eyes.

"I'm so happy to see you, I wet the floor"

Hey, have you gotten a new Bud yet?
We have three. The oldest is on her last legs and my wife is going to be SO upset when Sheena goes.
But having the other's will help.

It is the cruelest thing, the life span of mans best friends. My belief is that dogs exist to remind humans that unconditional love is absolutely possible. I lost my yellow lab 4 years ago and have added a Golden Retriever 2 1/2 years ago. I still call my new baby by the Labs name occasionally.

My true belief for the severe grief we feel for the loss of our fuzzy-kids, is that's "our payment" we must endure for the extremely high amount of love and pleasure that they give us in their short time with us. Nothing else comes close.

Hey guys, great responses & thank you...
That video made so much sense...
I've still not gotten a replacement, not sure I could replace Buddy, but need a dog....LOL
I'm thinking about doing a rescue, so to help save a dog & fill my need to have a dog...
I haven't pulled the trigger yet, my ol'Pop has had 3 surgeries in the last 3 months...
I have my hands full dealing with that, as soon as he's 100% recouped, I'll get a dog...

It'll probably be another Lab/Retriever of some sort, but I'm open minded,
some other breed or dog may just grab my heart, we'll see...
It's really sad heart still, I really miss Lord Budnicks, maybe because the kids are grown up,
all moved & living a ways away...
Every time I see dogs on TV, I think about my Buddy...
I still see his eyes & face, while he was on the table that last day at the vet... Makes me sad...
He was with me 24/7 & only away from me for very short periods of time...
It's really strange how you can get so attached to them, I wouldn't have it any other way...
I've had quite a few dogs now, a Scotty when I was born, a Staffordshire
{AKC reg. Alfred Fraten Urinal, my 1st real personal dog, not a family pet, he was really something},
Shepard, Dane, English Setter, Pitts {mostly family dogs, even if I was who took care of them}
& 4 labs now in the last 40 years {Prince, Barron, Duke & Lord royalty...LOL}
I have had several dogs at the same time with the kids etc....
Lord Budnicks was probably the most spoiled rotten too, I've mellowed over time, well kind of...LOL
This is really the 1st time I haven't had some kind of dog around, I can remember as long as I lived...

I thought that video was cool as hell & made me go thru a ton of different emotions...

Thank you everyone, for all the well wishes & support,
believe me it does help, to see others that are just as crazy dog people as I am...
I will get another dog very soon, I really need one, to keep me centered...
If that makes any sense ??, If your a dog person you'll get what I mean...

They are so great to have around, make you feel better, their unwavering loyalty & companionship,
they are truly Mans Best Friend's, you won't or really don't understand until they're gone...

For all those that have lost their Buddy's {whomever},
you certainly have my deepest heartfelt condolences...

You all have a nice day now...
You all have made mine better...
