I was hoping to get some help with wiring reverse lights on my 69 bee. I have installed the correct wiring coming out of the 833 trans. I have the dash indicator for inside the car. However, the car doesn't have the block on the firewall (aftermarket wiring I guess), so diagrams don't really help. The violet-colored wires come out of the reverse lights, in the trunk and connect then run towards the driver's side into a harness. Can I wire this somehow so I can have reverse lights? I don't know how to route the wiring, and I have no idea what to do. Do I need an in-line fuse or try to run it to the fuse block in the glove compartment? I'm not sure where to ground or source power either. Thanks for any help offered.

You will have to hard wire it. Find a 12 volt keyed source and install a fuse. Run the wire off the fuse to the switch. The other wire off the switch will have to tie into the wires going back and the indicator light. I have to wonder what the rest of your wiring looks like. Post some pictures of what you have.

Thanks. I will post when I have time. It's not pretty. My goal is to rewire most if not all of the car.

You might be doing yourself a favor right now by looking that wiring over real close now. It might be time to fix it right before it burns up.

I think you're right. The guy I bought it from did some sketchy work. It has been on my to-do list since I got it.
