I have a 66 Belvedere ll 440 auto and am changing from manual to power steering. I know the main shaft is shorter on the power steering cars but would rather not cut my original shaft. I have a complete 70 Chrysler non tilt steering column, auto with power steering, and would like to use the main shaft from that unit. There is a noticeable difference from the firewall down, with a rag joint in front of the coupler, but that should be a non factor. Are there major differences, with the shaft, inside the Chrysler column that will not allow me to use the Chrysler shaft? I am soaking the nuts and bolts with Blaster so I can disassemble the Chrysler column but if you guys say it won't work I will do something different.
Thanks for any information.
Jerry
