Can be mounted in the engine compartment or under the dash. Amount of assist is adjustable.
Jay Leno added this to his 1941 American LaFrance fire truck. His install seemed slightly more difficult than I would anticipate on a early B body with manual steering. Basically there is a company that makes kits with flanges and brackets to install in your shortened steering column. Salvage yard Chevy Equinox or Saturn Vue electric assist.

The owners name is Ken, I have spoken with him and was very impressed.
Seems to substantiate the positive customer feedback on the website.
I will probably install in my '70 PowerWagon first as soon as I work out the cross-over steering modification to help eliminate the horrible bump steer all of these straight axle trucks suffer from. Since my '62 Savoy is still under construction there is no hurry. I kinda like the under dash option but I think the steering column cover would present more issues than I am willing to wrestle. I want to install my MC under the dash and that will probable eat up most of the usable space available. I would be interested to hear your feedback if you decide to speak with Ken. BTW seems like there is a fairly large weight reduction reward when you consider the cast iron steering box vs the available aluminum manual box. Not to mention all the brackets, hoses and pump. Plus no more annoying leaks.
