So this next day off I'm going to replace the master cylinder my 1969 Dodge Coronet 440 with a factory big block 383, and manual drum brakes. The previously Master cylinder lasted about 14 years which is pretty good, however it rusted over with in the first week that I had it on the car. It made the Engine compartment look crappy but at the time it was my daily driver, now it's my project car and I want to try to keep the master cylinder looking new, I bought some rust-oleum clear gloss paint, and flat clear paint, which is correct or do you know of a better product?? Thanks

I used Rust Oleum Black Hammerd paint had a little bit left figured I would use it and it looks great its real tough paint took a while to dry but worth the wait IMO

Bead blast it and paint it with cast iron or black paint, whichever is correct for your car.

I clear coated mine many many years ago, I think I used rust-olium either satin or semi gloss and it still looks like new, also did the cover and hold down wire.
If its new just clean it good with lacquer thinner or deglosser and spray it.

I've used Eastwoods Brake Grey with decent results.
