I am putting the pieces together on a Dodge 330 Max Wedge build, and have to start thinking of the "Heart" of the matter, the engine. I am looking for suggestions/advice on the engine build, and components. I have acquired the Top End kit from A&A ( standard head intake, not the MW, with the 625cc carbs, and a set of new cast exhaust manifolds). I plan on using a 440 block, with the possibility of stroking to around 500. The car will be mainly street driven, but put occasionally on the track, and taken to Nostalgia Events, and probably run there. Will need to run on pump gas, or a blend, so around 10.5 CR. Would like to see around 550 hp/torq. Keeping the P/B Auto, and 4:10,or 3:73 gears. I thought I would ask around, so as to avoid some issues that you all have run across. Thanks for any input you can give when you have a chance...

I'm doing this build now
My engine is completed
I purchased TTI headers
Body is in primer
Mine is a slow project
Good luck with your build!

Cool. I'm hoping to do the same thing except with headers with a 413 and my '65 Barracuda.
I'd go with Stealth heads for the look and performance. Have them checked and correct and parts replaced. Dished pistons to keep the static ratio down. A solid flat tappet cam, in the 250° @ .050 area for perfomance and sound.

Please explain what part of this build is Max Wedge.
Nice looking car.

From reading your post, I assume you're talking about push button automatic. Not power brakes. Right? If so, no problems.

It's getting the MW repro induction and exhaust and it's going into a chassis that the MW was available in...
Or did you miss that?
Copy that. Max Wedge "Look" the title says. Nothing about "is" Max Wedge. Kinda like '71 Hemi Cuda clone don't make it a Hemi Cuda. Love the man's honesty. And the car is sure pretty.

The PB is referring to the Push Button Transmission, which I have picked up a '65 cable shifted 727, with a spline shaft output, and will need to fab the driveshaft. I didn't think the power brake system would fit, but I do plan on trying to get a 2-bowl master cylinder in place of the single. Thanks to all who have been contributing, and I am taking notes on this, to avoid mistakes along the way. Just an update, here is the car as it is today. Came back from media blast, and will be repairing all issues in the body, original AA color code, planned, along with original A code interior. Trying for Carlisle this year, but that will be a long shot, at best...
