Who are they?Where are they? Are you sure they are made HERE??
Have you priced T & D and Dvorak??

my M/W heads came with no stands on them but I have the rest of the gear(adjustable rockers, shafts, springs etc) just looking to find out what you other guys may be using or what you may recommend.

excellent, thanks coloradodave, That's what I was looking for some info on what's worked well for guys on their motors.

Matt,
Are you going to use stock valve covers with your roller rockers?

I have the original adjustable rockers and the 4 bolt valve covers, would there be a problem with that setup?

Matt,
Depending on the lift of your cam there MAY be a problem with clearance between the adjuster tip and the baffle in the covers. You can check this by installing all the valve gear for one cylinder on each bank (under the baffle) and adjusting the valves. Make sure to submerge the lifters in oil and pump them up if they're hydraulic). Put a small square of modeling clay about 1/4" thick on the tip of each adjuster and install the cover with a gasket. Turn the motor over by hand for a good 2 revolutions. Remove the cover and check the thickness of the clay. This is your clearance. If there is none or it's not much you have a couple of options: 1) You can use 2 gaskets stacked to raise the cover up (I don't recommend this due to problems in sealing properly. 2) You can drill holes in the baffles over the adjuster tips (2nd best and cheapest) or do what I did. 3) I had some .187" aluminum spacers made that I bonded to the valve covers and used a single Felpro gasket. Stiffens the lip of the cover and NO leaks. These 4 bolt heads always leaked and it's why they went to 6 bolts later. The spacers are available from Steve at topside340@yahoo.com. They are a work of art and reasonably priced. Good luck.

thanks for the tip coloradodave! I think the cam is a purple 484... so the lift isn't too big, but may change it for a 509 or something bigger, not sure yet. Hydraulic for the street would be the best option anyway wouldn't it?
Just have to get the rest of the gear and I can put it all together...

Matt,
Yeh, if it's a street car hydraulic is best. Solids sound good, but periodically adjusting the valves is a hassle. Also, make sure you use an oil that contains zinc and phosphorous so that you don't wipe out the cam lobes. How about some pictures of your ride?

I picked it up in LA a couple of yrs ago, been sitting in the garage waiting inline for its turn...nearly there. Got SO many parts stashed away waiting for it....gonna pull out the original 383hp and BW T10 and 741 and put in a 440 crossram, A833 and 489 diff. Got a disc kit for the front, just need to put it together and on, redone steerring wheel, nos tail lights, nos speaker grille, new bumpers, hood scoop, original shifter..etc Just need to pass some exams for my promotion and it'll be on...
