I had a few of those whistle pigs at my old house .444 Marlin magnum and they were whistle chunks.
I had rats once and I turned a propane tank on let the hose fill the hole with propane, made a nice long diesel fuel fuse. That was the end of the rats! Might work with whistle pigs

A bit of an overkill.
I have neighbors within 1/2 mile.
22 would suffice. Or a .223
Could go with 7mauser.

Or go with a low velocity .22 and some are as quiet or even more quiet than most pellet rifles.

I have an old 9 iron near the back door that has claimed a few hogs and possums. Just chase them down and thump em. The skunks i tend to let get further away and reach out and touch em with the 12ga. The turkey vultures do a good job cleaning up a skunk. Nothing left but skin and bones.
