Trying to see if anyone has used the McLeod super Street pro? How is the pedal effort?

I've never run a McLeod, but it's a long-established name in clutches. The diaphragm style clutches tend to have easier pedal effort than the 3-finger borg & beck style clutches.

I'm about to finish up installing my newly rebuilt 23 spline trans with a McLeod 260123 clutch and 360820 PP. It's a Diaphragm setup. Once it's done I'll let you know how it feels, I'm HOPING it's this weekend.

I had a Centerforce Diaphragm in there before, and the pedal feel was very stiff. The Overcenter spring was removed, but I found that the entire linkage/z-bar setup was totally hammered. It was even missing the washers on the ball stud attached to the frame. I'm guessing with all new parts it's going to be a lot smoother and easier to push in.

One more question. Do you shop for clutches based on crank hp/tq or rwhp/tq? Sorry if it's a dumb question.

Get one that will hold your tq at the flywheel.

I may just get the McLeod RST. It's 10% off at jegs and I think it's no tax

After talking to a few people I ended up cancelling the rst and going with the 12" pressure plate with a single disc like you

I bought the Clutch/PP (along with the trans being rebuilt and a butt load of other various parts) from Passon. I have a very stock 440 in my car, so it should be more than enough to hold it.

I'm running a low deck 470 stroker with a solid cam and trick flow heads. I haven't dynoed or installed the motor yet so I don't know the numbers yet. I don't plan on hitting the track so I hope this 12" setup is enough. I don't want to get "too" much clutch and risk breaking parts
