Meet Simon

We still have Simon’s favorite camping site at the lake. I haven’t went very many times this year as it makes me very sad to be there without him. Even though family and friends are there it’s just not the same. I miss Simon terribly. Kim

The pain never goes away when you lose a family member. You eventually just learn to with it. All I can say is your not alone, many of us on FBBO have been where you at
God bless

I bought this at Cow Town. I knew I had to have it when it brought tears to my eyes. I was pretty emotional for a while. Rest In Peace little buddy. Kim

My wife is befriending a feral cat. We already have 3 but in Michigan this winter will be cruel. Your words really hit home.

I still miss Simon everyday. I’ve come to the realization that a dog is about a 10 year commitment give or take a few years. I may or may not have that many years left on this great planet. Kim

Question we worry about is. If we got another companion, would we outlive it, go through everything again, or expire before it does. And what would happen to he/she. We are torn.
Bright side. For about 7 years a young guy has been walking by our house to public school. He appears to be very happy and exuberant. This summer they got a dog. He loves it to pieces, stops by in front of our house and talks to the dog.
It’s so refreshing that students in grade school can still walk to school over 1/4 of a mile.

Wife and I think the same about getting another. Doubtful that we will outlive a dog or a cat.

We've always rescued older dogs [nobody wants them]. We're at the point of our current girl being over 14. I think I may get us one more old rescue, before I draw my final breaths.

Our bittersweet wall....

Animals often have problems as tne winter approaches. I sniffed a lot when my dog Rolex was put down just before Christmas. It is sad to see them go.
Hot water heaters also seem to fail near Christmas.

You guys are wonderful ppl. Doing all the rescues is giving them a new lease on life. But along with that a lot of heartache.

When we lost Mopar, I would have felt just like you, without my three four-legged boys. I still miss her terribly too. I have pics in my phone I try to avoid, but can't delete.

I keep a list of all the things Radar and Rolex chewed.
Makes me laugh and cry and mad, all at the same time.
13 for Rolex, 14 for Radar, after a large vet bill.

I feel your pain. I too have about 100 or so pics on
my phone. I always still have a good cry when I go thru them. They make me happy and sad at the same time.
