I have several of the clear plastic containers with the hinged lids for storing some stuff, but the bottom of one broke out.
I also have several of these 26 bin organizer containers. https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/W54...0VHA1LwfWWLgSevwjCsijGSzfXeOXjS4aArypEALw_wcB
Have one for 1/4", another for 5/16", one for 3/8" and one for 1/2" hardware (only good stuff, ARP or grade 8.)
Have others for misc stuff like core plugs, fittings, hose clamps, and such.
I don't have much metric hardware, but starting to get to the point where I might need to organize metric stuff.

that were weather worn & discolored by the sun,
or showed signs of cracking or being weak etc.
(They don't last for ever, but last well enough for 10+ years of service)
I'd bet I have still some 30 of them some 25-30 years old too
all storing stuff in my TuffShed or in my lil' 20'x20' garage
dual uses
On mine when I knew heavy stuff or sharp tools or other stuff that may poke into it
degrade the strength
I'd cut/put 'lightweight' wood/oak or birch (?) veneer, like 1/8" material/laminated
lining in the bottom
(cheap/cabinet backing material, even thicker tougher corrugated cardboard)
I had something like them Jeg org.s storage stuff, your link showed
that I got from Graingers IIRC or maybe Home Depot/Lowes etc.
They were like $12-$15 ea. (?) & like 6"x12" smaller ones for the smaller stuff
they are very handy too, don't remember the name brand
I bought a ton of supplies & trinkets, gadgets from Graingers,
(or the metal bins full of McMasters-Carr (?) fasteners, US Made)
I had an open bus. acct. with each.
Boxes/resupplies like 10-100 ea. (washers nuts bolts etc.) were inexpensive in bulk,
1/2 or less than price of going to big box stores, stuff I knew would be used,
Various nuts bolts washers, plumbing supplies, nails or nail-guns loads,
screws, all sizes, tapes, wire nuts, duct tape, metal air handler tape,

(we serviced everything from the front gate to the back fence, you name it we did it
of 125 automotive dealerships, it was 1st American Automotive)
Not have to stop work to go get lil' BS, $1 part/screw/nut etc.
unproductive type waste of my peoples/or my time & expense
running back & forth to the supply shop or big box stores, an hr + wasted
adds up
(I was the biggest commercial customer of Concord, Home Depot too)
sound like you've tried several things,
good luck
