Molding removal

1964 polara drip rail center molding. I know it has clips. Can't for the life of me , get them to release. I've used molding tools , putty knives etc.
Any ideas I'm open. Molding is very good don't want to damage it.

I've used an old style bottle opener with tape, masking or electrical, wrapped around the end for extra protection, & went slowly & carefully. Mouldings came off with no damage.

That has been suggested before. I just found out a guy used a piece of rod and pushed the clips to one end , then pulled the molding off .
