1st incarnation of minivan cup holders were a joke.
Little more than 2 circles 1/8" deep on top of the AC control box.
The face lift actually included about 1" deep drink holders in the same location.
The 84 Daytona/Laser had a pull out assembly with spring loaded bottom bar supports.
However, these cup holders were the talk of the purchasing public in the mid 1980's.
Note- 1966/67 Coronet glove box door is capable of holding a can wedged between the open door and the dash.
