i have 2 qts of mopar multi-purpose high performance rear axle lubricant green metal cans, with 30-40 on top of the can(never been opened) and i was wondering if i could use it in my 67 dodge coronet 8 3/4....what does the 30-40 mean, and how old are they..?

Does it say sure-grip lubricant ? If it is it will smell like rotten eggs. The whale oil smells. It was said you could smell old time 1890's a mile away.

it doesn't say sure grip, but it says for all drag racing and rallies , must be changed every 500 runs, circuit racing 1,000 miles, rally 2,000 miles chrysler part numbers 4-183 and part number 2809 864 haven't opened it yet maybe i will save it as an antique on my shelf,..and buy some new 75-80 weight?

Save it. Put some 80/90 in. Your 8 3/4 have a Sure grip? You will need some Friction Modifier. Dr Diff sells it.

i will check it out tomorrow, where is Dr Diff?

You can get the friction modifier at most Ford dealerships.
