Moparfest at the Battleship April 28th 2018

Spent most of the day taking my time to clean up my car.
I bought a Ryobi battery powered random orbital buffer over a year ago and finally used it for the first time today. Since I washed my car for a show last Saturday all I had to do was dust it before applying the wax. I used Maguire's yellow liquid carnauba wax and the Ryobi application pad. Man! Saved a lot of time and pain! Used the Ryobi with a finishing pad to buff the wax off, and some microfiber towels for areas I couldn't use the buffer on.
Came out GREAT! Vacuumed the carpet and mats, checked the valve covers...found that the mechanic who last touched them didn't do a good job. Passenger side had 2 out of 6 so loose they might as well been missing, and one on the driver's side actually was missing. In both cases it was the ones on the ends. Added 1 quart of Valvoline VR1 racing oil (w/zinc) formulated for old school no catalytic converter flat tappet motors. Got my tools out of the trunk from my pressure plate swap work that I did at my buddy's house and loaded up my detailing stuff I may need tomorrow once I get to the Battleship. Full tank of no ethanol 93 octane premium fuel and some Marine Sta-Bil 360 for the road trip.

See you at the welcome center or at the Battleship!!

Used to have a car show at the San Jacinto Monument (across the road from Battleship Texas) every spring but haven't heard of it happening in a few years now.....

More pix, to try to capture the scope of the show...Great venue! God bless America and American MUSCLE, Cars and Military!!

Biotech,
I have a awesome video of you fixing to put it on them mustangs my son took. I'll try and get in on when I get home. Nice to meet you.

The swap meet section was better than I thought it would be. Picked up a std bore 440 block with caps for $125. Another project to add to my collection

"Roll down the window!" Lol.

Here's a better idea what a Mopar big block sounds like vs the BUZZard Fords...

D'oh! I would have bought it as the core for my stroker motor! You scooped up a great deal!
