Terrible. Such a shame to have those beautiful cars damaged. A friend of mine had two cars in the tent. Well at least it wasn't another fire, right?
Who has to pay for the damages ? I went down for the Barrett Jackson Auction but only stayed for a couple of days. I figured if I had to stay inside cause of the rain, I just as well go back to snowy Idaho.
The owners have insurance and they will get paid that way- but the insurance agencies are suing Russo Steele, who are suing the tent comany, who are completely unprepared to cover the damage. It's going to be a huge legal mess.
You sign a release of liability when you go to most any auction. Smart folks keep their car insured until it is delivered to the new owner (if it sells). I have heard of quite a few folks there who brought their cars uninsured.
I am just thankfull that nobody was hurt, it's alot of destruction there.
Out of curiousity, doesn't it seem that god wasn't happy with all those aftermarket cowl induction hoods?
I always kept my completed vehicles Insured until the sales were completed. That's just common sense and good business sense.
I predict Collectors Car Insurance will be higher than Draft Nuts till the Insurance Companies recoup all their losses on this one.
How did some of that damage happen, I mean, crushed in roofs and all? Some panels even had scuffed and dragged paint on the sides and top of trunk lids. You mean to say with all of that valuable property out there, there was no security?
EDIT, DOH.....
Did a google search, and saw it was caused by Mother Nature. Hey, I've been busy with school. What can I say...
