my friends dad was at Cvs and got his prescription.
same day,he gets an email from " CVS " about a offer for a brand new dashcam.
the details were, pay the shipping get the dashcam for FREE and youll also need a ssid card for it.
the shipping was 16.95....and the data card was 25.95....
(you can buy a bigger data card at wallyworld for less )
so he goes ahead and gets it,its mailed to him.
he brings it to me cause hes not tech oriented and the first thing i notice is the package has absolutely no brand name Anywheres.
no company website,etc etc.
open it up,even the instructions are plain paper and again...no corporation name...
so i look at this cam,and Thats got no brand name either...
finally manage to track the cam down on the web,its from......2012.
he takes this news okay...hes overpaid at this point for both imo.
but.....then...his account gets hit for 79.95 for this supposed free dashcam!!
he goes tharn and calls CVS corporate,
and they deny even knowing who this company " is thats using their handle,
using their email addies, and getting their clients from.
nvm that i saw the email myself and it was deffo CVS/branch of.
they lay a bunch of bs/we will investigate and let you know about it./ on him,
and he thinks they are actually gonna do something about it.
me,i dont think so,and figured id post this so no-one else gets hammered on this particular scam.
