Maybe. Maybe not. That Alex Wellen guy is apparently tagging along for the ride
(the CEO that oversaw recent destruction of so many programs and firing of personalities).
In fact, in hindsight now, it appears that the deal was in the works for quite a while and
therefore the stripping down of the MT shows was mandated in order to make the deal.

Yes, it's probably good that the entity is no longer beholden to Warner Brothers/Discovery
and instead will be overseen by actual car media guys - but that doesn't mean automatic
reinstatement of all that has been destroyed.
Maybe they'll negotiate new contracts with all the RIF'ed folks, who knows?

Hasn't been too good so far
they've already canceled a bunch of the best shows
just rerun in perpetuity

Reruns have been a problem with the magazines for awhile. Since the talent got the boot, they fill the pages with reruns and assume readers don't know. Not this kid!

Car and driver is the most obvious paid shill opinion rag I have ever read. I mean it is good if the brand stays alive, but I don;t presume this is good just because it is alive. It might all be gutted and turned into "brand leverage" for the globalist auto corps to pay into for more shill stories. I don't think any of the media under that umbrella was written for enthusiasts, it was written to instruct the public on how to think and what to buy.

Of course, time will tell won't it.

Mags and TV are dead, they screwed around just long enough to let most people discover You Tube. The content on there is much more entertaining and informative than 90 percent of the shows that they would try to spoon feed us. Now You Tube needs some competition so that the "Influencers" don't become the influenced, I'm sure it's happening already. The content being released by MT's old personalities is much more entertaining and coheisive on YT. These guys are making weekly 1-2 hours videos with cell phones and Go Pros that have a higher production value than the big boys and it's stuff you want to see, not stuff you have to see do to no other choice. They over played their hand.

You mean I can no longer call them Murder Trend?

I agree you tube will kill most off, I really enjoy D/F and shows like his. Just a normal guy who has spent his life in our lane. Finnegan is funny too ,although a little different on his approach. I also miss Steve Dulcich but have also come to appreciate others.. There is so much talent that was under thumb that is now free and that makes a big difference. My good friend has House of Mopar which is him doing his thing and I like it that he can do it. I’m waiting to see Eldubb on his own!

The MotorTrend & so is the MotorTrend at FastTV stations here
has changed to Discovery Turbo, Comcast Xfinity X1

I think it happened about the 1st week (?) or Jan 1st 2026 of this new year

I can go on Xumo Play or Tubi even (or others thru X1, internet Free apps)
& see old MotorTrend stuff,
not aired regularly or not as much on cable now
Engine Masters (one of my favorites), Build for the Off-road
or Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, HotRod Garage :blah:
on Speed Vision
or Power Nation shows,
I like Muscle Cars & Detroit Muscle, or Engine Power
or others long gone like
Stacy David's; Gearz
or the older shows/dedicated channels to what they call
Vintage Graveyard Carz
& like 7 or so stations/apps for the car stuff, up or down the lineups on Xumo
Top Gear or Fifth Gear, Caffeine & Octane etc.
some show by Ray Everingham former Nascar Crew Chief,
building cars & going to car shows

I wish more would use Rumble. It works better.

In my limited experience with watching u-tube, it seems there's much more CRAP and Fake garbage, than anything useful or entertaining.
