Reminds me of an amazing old gent that we had here. When asked what he did in the war he would respond that he was a ships captain. After a long pause he would add “for the Air Force”.
Turns out that he was indeed an Air Force ships captain. He ran a boat, fishing crews out that had to ditch their planes in the ocean.
