Nazi sub found in Great Lakes

So this is another fraud proposed to the American people..... Who has time to make this **** up... And publish it.

Man, and here I was wondering how they got it up the Niagra Falls when no one was looking.

I personally think they should kick whoever starts these fake stories right in the nuts....sorry for being crude.

The 'Worldnewsdailyreport.com' is a humour satire site, nothing on there is real. It's made up the same as any other fiction and their website states that the stories are fictional and for entertainment purposes. It's not a fraud to any particular nation, the stories are worldwide. Where else are you going to see a headline "Dead cow brought back to life by lightning"? ;)

"WNDR assumes however all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. All characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any persons, living, dead, or undead is purely a miracle."

Okay - so I don't know the sources. I just read the short story and didn't pay that much attention to where it came from.

P.S. Was a cow really brought back to life by lightening??!

I just clicked on the thread and dropped to that first sub pic, and thought "that's not a U-boat!" right off. Interesting "story" on that site, though. Entertaining!

The conning tower kind of looks like a type xxi U-boat..but that design was so advanced at the time that it was copied by nearly every navy after the war including the uss nautilus. And by the time the xxi was launched in 45 the Germans had bigger problems than hanging out in lakes lol.

What I want to know is for as long as that story's been floating around, why no one had photoshopped Brian Williams onto the sub? :)

Correct that it isn't a German sub. The picture was originally from an article showing a decommissioned Soviet nuclear sub destined for scrap.

Yes the only German sub to make it to the great lakes is the type ix at the museum of science and Industry in Chicago. And they had a bitch of a time getting it there in peacetime. Well worth the trip if you are a ww2 buff I saw it years ago.

Or Hillary Clinton, both claim they are decorated war veterans, just ask them...LOL

As far as real U Boats it's no hoax that they did operate off the coast of North Carolina there are a few sunk that are popular dive spots. When I was small my grandfather and some of his fireman buddies had a fishing cottage in Morehead City. At the time I was small and would go down with my dad and him to fish in the late 50's. Now this was less than 15 years after the war and stories were told, but never confirmed, that the Germans would put on civilian clothes and use rubber boats to come on shore at night and supposedly their favorite thing to do was go the theater to watch movies. I do know that many coastal cities were "blacked out" at night to prevent creating silhouettes of merchant ships for U boats laying in wait for prey.

As for the movie Das Boot it was based on the book Iron Coffins which was written by U boat Captain Herbert Werner.
