Just got the car into my garage yesterday and going over everything that is blatantly wrong or missing. My bumper brackets aren't lining up, 3" off each center bracket. Not sure if they had been bent (shows a little bend, but not that much) or if they are just the wrong ones somebody slapped on. If they are the wrong ones, does anyone make these, or am I on a stripped part search? Thanks for your help, hope the pictures give you enough to go off of...the one with my finger is where the bumper hole is for the bolt.

take the brackets off the car , bolt them to the bumper first and see where they line up on the frame. they are adjustable. just snug them up. I always install the bumper and brackets as a unit . there are also 2 brackets that bolt to the top and mount on the fenders to hold it up

Will do....going to pull the whole thing off tonight so I can get the cherry picker closer tomorrow. Pulling the motor for its due TLC and lower build. I'll remember this when I put it back together. Thank you WP2944OSE

I agree.

Put them on the bumper first.

For reference, 73/74 brackets look similar but don't work.

The holes for the bolts to the frame are off by about 2 inches up and down because of the iso-comp bushings, and the bend ahead of the frame rail wont let the bumper be slid back far enough (on a 71/72) because of the filler strip gap.

Did you figure out the brackets? They look like the correct 71-72 brackets. As stated above where they bolt to the cars frame there slotted bumper first then see where your at they may be bent but if you do it this way you can get a torch and heat them up enough and get it close enough to bolt back on .the front bumpers on these arnt designed to take a hit most people toss the bumper guard's and once they get hit the bumper is 99%of the time trashed and brackets are usually over looked (mostly because there not easy to take off the car)
Good luck if you need a set there's a member parting a 71 out now I think he still has them p.m. me if you want his info (can't remember how he spells his screen name )
