Need help with parking Brake Pedal Assembly

I'm in the process of replacing my parking brake cable. I removed the parking brake pedal assembly, I cleaned and lubed it and started to reinstall it but I can't remember where the item in (pic#1) goes. I think it goes into the opening of (pic#2) but does it install like (pic#3) or (pic#4) and is the a bolt that goes thru both holes to hold it in place. Or am I completely screwed up and the item in (pic#1) goes in another place on the pedal assembly. Any help will be appreciated.

After playing with it for a while I finally figured out how it went and what it was for. It's good to know my brain still works a little even if it is a little slow.
