Hey guys.

When I drive my rig I have an odd case of the hood rattling back and forth (left to right actually) whenever I hit a slightly rough patch of road.

Obviously it isn't a 'serious' issue but with that much sheetmetal moving about, even slightly, it can be a bit noisy and disconcerting.

In looking the problem over, I think one of the PO's didn't install all the hinge bolts back in place at some point in the past. There is one bolt at the front of the hinge and one in the lower section of the rear. However it looks as though there should be a 2nd bolt towards the top of the hinge in the rear. I'm missing these upper bolts on both sides but want to confirm that they should be there. Hence the need for either confirmation or a pix.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Thank you, Newbaufish! Believe it or not, the 2nd photo with the spring mount waaaay in the back showed me what I needed to know and suspected.

You also need all eight rubber bumpers to keep it from shaking around.

Thanks. Had that but it still kept moving. The problem that I suspected and which was validated was that the PO who put the car together didn't put the 3 bolt in the spring hinge mounts. Hence, the entire assy was flexing around and hence, the hood was moving with it.
