Hey Guys, I have my windshield out and need to clean the edges and replace the clips. After I get it clean should I paint it with something like eastwoods rust encapsulator? I want to fix the little rust that's there and prevent more rust from forming. If I paint it will that make the windshield hard to seal? 1969 RR Thanks!

Repair rust, prime, seal, and paint. If there is any doubt that you haven't taken care of all the rust, yes you can use something like POR 15. Whatever you use, make sure you follow that manufacturer's procedure for priming and painting over it.

To answer your question, the windshield will actually seal better reinstalled in a clean, smooth painted surface.
