That car has thousands of man hr's in metal work, great looken' 68 Charger, impressive build, I saw that a while ago on a Velocity or Speed Channel show IIRC, not that detailed of a description as he went into there thou...

i just messed myself....PURE FREAKING MOPAR MUSCLE RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the 60's, a guy named Brownlie came up with the Coke Bottle design on the 2nd gen Chargers. While not a purist, I usually don't appreciate messing with Legendary American design. However, this is well done. SON of a...

I like how he just took the great styling to the next level.

Based on his detailed commentary about making this and fabbing that, that guy could have fabbed the entire car from sheet metal.

I can appreciate the work, but the car will never be worth 1/3 of what they will have into it. However, I'd be willing to bet that there is a business deduction aspect of it and in the end, I'm sure that they are hoping to get more business by making this investment.

The coke bottle style b-bodies didn't come out until 71. Even then it was more pronounced on the 71-2 Road Runners. That is why it is my favorite b-body actually. If you took a strait edge from the front fender wheel lip to the rear wheel lips, the waist of the car at the doors would probably be 6" or so narrower than the flared wells. The rear wheel lips are probably a foot or more wider than the roof too(like the chargers), but that is not as striking because of the more gradual curvature. We are in the middle of custom fabbing some new quarters for my 71 bird at the moment to emphasize those hips even more. I'm a big fan of the coke bottle styling.

FFLosAngeles2013 075.jpg I think that the indentations in the quarter of this 69 are what we call the Coke-Bottle. 71was the dramatic change away from it. I remember growing up with those green tinted 6 ouncers.

Good point RC/DH almost all SEMA & RIDLER type build cars are like that, allot of $$$ & especially time, that can't ever "probably" {not always} get it's time, value or parts for the construction worth/costs out of them...

yeah it really started in 1968 for the most part with RR's Super Bees Coronets R/T's especially the 1968 Chargers more pronounced sculpted designs, great redesigns top view that was fat at the back narrow in the middle & wide at the front again, or the side view was basically a "coke bottle" look on the profile, Aka "Coke Bottle Styling" from the top or side view.... 1971 they took it more to an extreme especially in the profile, with the Charger/Super Bee, mostly done for the racing less wind tunnel drag in frontal area & narrower to wider, because they really couldn't use the Daytona or Superbird with out big engine displacement reductions/basically a penalty to reduce the engine size to 305ci if they used a aero-winged & Hemi powered car, to try to slow down Dodge & Plymouth @ the track & especially super speedways dominance....
