Neutral safety switch on 65 Plymouth

I was under my car today cleaning things up to try and locate a significant transmission leak but I noticed that the neutral safety switch (single pin) didn’t have a wire to it. I found this diagram on this page for the starter relay.

The wire off the post that is supposed to go the the NSS just runs up and grounds on the firewall. Does this mean I can start the car in any gear? Guess I need to fix this too.

You need to run a wire to nss. Switch is probably ng might need to replace it? 65 NSS are different than 66 I think.
