I believe your '66 uses a switch with one threaded pin. Late '68-up uses the common 3 pin type that was used for years and can be bought cheap at any parts store.
A few months ago I needed the early type for a car I was working on and was unable to find any sources for a new one other than a couple of NOS ones advertised on ebay-and they were asking from about $40 to $50 each for them! A member on FABO offered to sell me a working used one for $20 but I then remembered I had a '67 parts car and luckily it had a good one in it.
I was told you could use the later style and just use the center pin but you would have to change the end on your wire to make it work.
Good luck,
Dallas

Don't hold me to it but I was told that there are two sizes, long and short as there was a change in the valve bodies. If true I hope someone will confirm.Maybe has to do with when they went to part throttle kick down??
