I recently purchased a 1965 Plymouth Satellite that was already in the beginning stages of a rebuild. The car was an original 426 4 speed that was changed sometime in its life to a 383 4 speed. I'm currently on the fence with doing a Gen III Hemi swap or building a 400 stroked motor. If there is anyone on the site that has done a 62-65 b-body Gen III Hemi swap I would appreciate any feedback or advice.

Welcome from Michigan, the Motor City! Nice looking project there! 440'

Welcome from Alabama, that will be a sweet ride either way you go.

Build the 400.

Because it's a 426 wedge 4speed car, you might want to find a 426w block...

If you want a modern engine, buy a modern car

Welcome to FBBO from across the river in Ontario. Nice Satellite project. If it were mine, I would do up a 440, dress it up as a 426 Street Wedge, and drop that in front of the 4-speed. But it's not mine. Whatever you do, have fun with it.

THANKS FOR POSTING PICS RIGHT UP FRONT!!
(Another vote for a 440 build disguised as a wedge engine - it'll be the cheapest
on you, I'd think).

hello and welcome to the site.

Welcome from Missouri!! Some advice, I have a 5.7 hemi in my 65 coronet that I bought already done, why did I buy it, it was built as a prototype, a test mule built by a car builder to sell conversion kits. The car was originally a 361, had it been a 383 or a 426 car, he would never have used it. That car should be what it was intended to be, an original 426 car or I'll even go with the 383. Do I love my car, yes I do. I bought it because I can get in and go with no maintenance issues and the car has history. Just my opinion.
