Well, I got a call from Tamraz's on Wednesday that my new hood came in from AMD. I went over and picked it up and took it to the bodyshop not far away and put it on a horse to "Inspect" it. I was dumbfounded! $750.00 for this? I kept looking at it and the more I looked at it, the more upset I got. My buddy Dan, who owns the shop came over and looked at it and he found more thingswrong with it! Now I felt like an idiot. He asked me if I could take it back, and I said, "I think"? Well, I boxed it up and drove it over to their place and I was relieved that they accepted it and asked if I wanted another one ordered or a refund. I said that I'd like another one ordered. They said O.K., and I left. Today I got a call from the sales guy and he said that they unboxed the ood and looked at it and couldn't find anything wrong with it. They sold it this-afternoon and shipped it out to some unsuspecting customer. They said they were refunding my money because they talked to AMD anda better hood could probably not be found. Well, I've done buisness with these guys before and I'm glad that they didn't try to pull anything funny. It's just sad that I can't find a hood that doesn't need fourty hours worth of work to make it look good. This batch of hoods just came out of Taiwan fresh, and I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems besides me?

Hoods are sensitive beasts! Sometimes might be best to split the old Hood up, and sink some tons of hours in an original Hood vs. new one?

Yeah, I hear ya. I just got done driving up to Minneapolis for an original hood, and it looked good so I bought it for 300.00 and drug it back home. I dumped a half-gallon of stripper on it and almost fainted. I am going to fix it, but it's not going on my car. I need to find a Early 68 hood because of the placement of the safety catch. The AMD hood just had too many problems, including the peak didn't go as farback as the original and I think for that kind of money it should be close to perfect.
