I would like to get a new instrument cluster dash bezel. Has anyone tried the one from Classic Industries? I did a search and found some information on the ones from PG but the info was more than ten years old.
The reviews were not good. The fit and quality were problems. I wonder what source Todds restorations use.

I bought a set and wished I sent mine out to restore them. It is cheaper to have your set restored. Dont waste your money on the repops. Black paint on them is water paint ,comes off if you look at them to long. A member here restore dashes and he knows a company that does them. I felt I flushed my money down the drain when I bought the repops for my Bee.

Repops require quite a bit of trimming along the bottom edge to match the profile of the OEM bezels... They do not fit otherwise... A total rework. Trust me, I've done it. If you can get your originals redone at a reasonable cost, that's the way to go

thanks for the information. I will check on people who refinish originals. I will be talking to Todd Tuesday and get some suggestions.

Let us know the prices please.

I think there are still other companies that are restoring bezels. Just can’t remember the name. Possibly look up vacuum platers. You might not have to go through a middleman.

$1200 to $1400 includes glove box door so it matches with the bezel. Some plastic repair included in price as needed. This is restored assembled and ready to install.

That sounds high to me, you could paint them and use a chrome pen and white sharpy . Did that on my 74 challenger. I will be doing that on my 70 charger. I could see doing it if it was a numbers matching 6pack/hemi car. Out of my price range.

As I mentioned earlier, you can make the aftermarket pieces work, you just have to know where to trim them so they physically match the originals. It's pretty straight forward, but it's also quite tedious. I've done it... In fact I did a post on this over on the 66/67 forum.

Was it worth it? Time will tell... I know the first aftermarket pieces that came out suffered from paint issues. They painted the black on top of the chrome without proper prep. You can't paint over chrome and expect it to stick there forever. Consequently, given enough time, the black paint would start peeling off these units. I have been told by various retailers that this was a known issue and that the issue has been addressed by the manufacturers.
Maybe, maybe not.... as I said, time will tell.

I bought the Classic Industry set for a 69 Charger. Mine were all broken and were really not easily restorable so I thought I'd take the short cut and go repro.
They fit fine, but the black paint comes off with the slightest pressure. Pretty disappointing. Like just about anything that is repro.

I think it was around 30 years ago, C.V.Plating in Vancouver area was re plating armrest bases and dash bezels. He had mainly doing Ford stuff. I might have been the first one to send 66-7 instrument bezels to him. Everything was done excellently.
I took the bezel off our original Charger and installed it in the 440 car. Still looks good today.
PG Classics used to belong to Peter. He sold out many years ago. At sometime, their Daughter moved to Edmonton Alberta. Turned out she had some different dash bezels. I bought 4 for our Chargers. Didn’t take very much tweaking. But the bottom of the pods were still chrome, not black.
I still have a few original bezels.

Here's a couple of pic's of the aftermarket bezel I trimmed to fit. All the trimming was done on the lower flange and surfaces. The top flanges etc were all fine. Time consuming...hopefully it will last.
